Circus
My childhood is a great source of inspiration. The circus brought me great joy as it arrived to my hometown and often with it, my uncle, who worked in The Ringling Brothers (yes, they took the name of the famous American circus!). In front of the portal of my mother's business, "Bar Nueva Pompeya," I was mesmerized when the circus caravan, with carriages and cages of lions, lined up elephants, clowns, jugglers and the inevitable giant walking the streets advertising the big show. This series is in honor of those village circuses. I exhibited "The Circus" in the lobby of the old Miami Herald / El Nuevo Herald building, facing the Miami Bay, in 2006.
